Local radio station, WEVL, hosts an annual series of Memphis music at the National Ornamental Metal Museum called “Blues on the Bluff”. At one such event, Kenny Brown put down some Mississippi hill-country blues. For 26 years, Brown backed up legend R.L. Burnside, and was just featured in the major motion picture, Black Snake Moan. Brown is one of only a few hill-country blues practitioners with ties to the innovators themselves.

Watermelon Slim is back on Beale Street Caravan, this time from the Blues Foundation's 2007 Blues Music Awards. Slim won record-tying six nominations at the award ceremonies, and delivered this wonderful performance.
